Music: get up kids - mass pike *sigh*

you can all be jealous of my french keyboard. I bet none of YOU have a 'fin' key.

in other news, people keep trying to sell me old computer parts at what they paid for them originally. y'know, these things DO lose value...

i wonder if anyone still reads this... hah. there's something to be said for livejournal, though I much prefer my own journal software, and my server seems to be a lot more reliable. if you have to read two journals to keep up with my life, too bad for you!

work sucks. why should I be working on a project for which we have 1) no deadline, 2) no finalized equipment list, and 3) no technical information when we have a project that has 1) a deadline, 2) a set equipment list, and 3) more manuals and other info than I'd know what to do with? Also, I've learned that when somebody asks me to do something, then tells me I don't need to, that I should do it, because it's 99% certain that I WILL end up being required to do it.

I saw "I'm Alright, Jack" with Peter Sellers tonight. It was a most excellent commentary on unions, employers, and society in general. And it was black and white. I've also rented Citizen Kane, so I'll finally get to see it...

Music: radiohead - sit down, stand up

I'm busy leeching the new Radiohead album :-D

i have an obsession with what people think of me because i'm not good at judging myself.

Music: blonde redhead - this is not

Another good reason to hate the DMCA. As if there weren't already enough.

My cow-orker will be gone all next week, now I'll actually get some work done. Today she showed me what she's done so far on the project, and I am completely mystified at how little it accounts to. She's been with the company for 8 years or something, and has accomplished less in this week than I have in the last day and a half.

I don't really know how to deal with it, it's somewhat frustrating to have to do all the work, but I LOVEEEE the responsibility. She tried to snipe the project from me, but eventually conceded I understood the project better, so I'm the one running the project. Crazy.

I have a lame industry profile to do for my co-op requirement. It's due on monday. I haven't started. Still lots of time to come up with 4 pages of BS. :-D

being happy is not the only objective in life. not even the main objective.

it's not what you're given, but what you do with it.

know who you are, and know what you want, and never give it up. it's a horrible thing to realize that you don't know who you've been for the last X years and you don't know how to get back to who you are.

you can't change your mistakes, but you can learn from them, and it's a wise man indeed who can learn from the mistakes of others.

one often meets one's destiny on the road he takes to avoid it.

friends are not easily come across.

a fool ignores the counsel of the wise, but the wise weigh even the advice of the ignorant.

I still remember everything. :)

I got an LJ account today. You rock, Tina :-D

Don't expect me to post there, I just needed it for leaving comments and reading friends journals and such. But go ahead and add me to your friends list :)

Mood: extrememly frustrated
Music: get up kids - stay gone

there is only one way to get a project done efficiently. set out the guidelines beforehand in terms of what you want to accomplish, and then focus on the task at hand until it's done. Of course you may have to make some minor adjustments, but you shouldn't have to make any major changes. at my job, we get some vague notion of what we want to do, fiddle around for a few weeks, meanwhile being continually being interrupted by stuff it's not our job to do and fixing other peoples' mistakes, and every time you sit down to work your boss walks in and changes what he wants you to do. that, and when people give you work they have this habit of returning five minutes later, taking the work to do it themselves, and then it sits on their desk for at least a week while you have to wait for them to finish it, and you end up doing it anyway.

I can't see how we get anything done. oh wait, WE DON'T.

you'd THINK somebody should be able to make the connection.

Music: badly drawn boy - a peak you reach

attention stupid polititians who insist on pushing fuel cells: there are two ways to get hydrogen.
1) by cracking fossil fuels, which requires fossil fuels.
2) by electrolyzing water, which uses electricity, which we mostly generate from burning fossil fuels.

will somebody please explain to me how hydrogen fuel cells will reduce our reliance on fossil fuels?

every time that i cry out
no one ever comes to me
every time that i reach out
no one ever rescues me
i wish i could hide from everyone

is there somewhere else to be?
is there somewhere else to be?

take me in
i want out.
that's all i need.

i wish that i could run from everything.
